Discussion
Community Garden
- Cabinet members discussed the possibility of creating a community garden on campus. Those interested in creating this garden will be asked to provide a proof of concept/proposal for the garden that addresses sustainability, time to maintain the garden, supplies, fundraising, etc.
Office of Enrichment and Engagement Student Award
- Cabinet discussed creating a new student award to be given on Honor’s Night each spring. The student recipient would be nominated/selected by the Office of Enrichment and Engagement with oversight and guidance by the Provost and Student Affairs offices.
Study Abroad
- Cabinet has been asked to evaluate whether or not the college would be able to assist a student financially in order to participate in a study abroad program.
- One option would be to have a group/organization create a scholarship through our foundation for this purpose.
Budget
- Dr. Pate gave Cabinet a brief overview of how the college’s FY26 budget looks now, additional details will be shared this Friday during the college wide meeting at 10:00 a.m. in RPC 212.
Juneteenth
ECTC has been asked to host a conference on June 18-19. Juneteenth is June 19, and the college is normally closed on this day. Cabinet discussed whether or not the college would be able to open up a few rooms for this conference or whether the organizer of this conference should move the dates of the conference so as to not interfere with institutional close holidays.
Nursing Position
- Cabinet discussed the resignation of a nursing instructor and unanimously agreed to refill the position.
Barnes and Noble
- Dr. Pate gave Cabinet an overview for the relocation of the Barnes and Noble bookstore.
