Welding student is Metallica Scholar
ECTC Metallica Scholar James Lucas grew up on a farm with welding equipment. He loved working with his hands, so welding was a perfect career choice. He came to ECTC because it was close to home, and the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship covers all his tuition.
鈥淓CTC is giving me a head start,鈥 Lucas said. 鈥淚鈥檓 learning the important parts to making a strong weld, and my eyes have been opened as to what career opportunities there are in welding.鈥
Lucas was selected as a Metallica Scholar because of his commitment and dedication to his studies.
鈥淚t means a lot to me to be selected,鈥 he said. 鈥淚t shows that my hard work has gotten the attention of my instructors, and will hopefully show future employers the same.鈥
